笔者在多年教学实践中,每每发现不少学生常将“送他去车站”之类的句子译成send him to the station。显然,这些学生对send 一词的含义和用法还没有很好地理解和掌握,这是问题的一方面;另方面,也反映出这些同学还不了解在汉译英时,必须从整个句子出发,联系上下文来考虑动词的具体含义,吃透该动词在该句中的真正意义,选用适当的英语动词的道理。
In many years of teaching practice, the author often finds that many students often translate sentences like “send him to the station” into send him to the station. Obviously, these students have not understood and mastered the meaning and usage of the word send, which is an aspect of the problem. On the other hand, it also reflects that these students still do not understand that when they translate from Chinese to English, they must start from the entire sentence. Context is used to consider the concrete meaning of the verb, to understand the true meaning of the verb in the sentence, and to use appropriate English verbs.
