Objective To investigate the characteristics of lower extremity vascular lesions in diabetic patients and its clinical value. Methods Thirty healthy volunteers were enrolled as the control group. Eighty clinically diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were enrolled as diabetic group, all underwent ultrasonography of lower extremity vessels. Results The lower extremity angiogenesis in diabetic group was significantly lessened, with significant dorsalis pedis artery (P <0.01) and secondary popliteal artery (P <0.05). The blood flow decreased compared with control group, and the dorsalis pedis artery was significant P <0.05). The increase of blood flow velocity was obvious in the dorsalis pedis artery (P <0.01), followed by the popliteal artery (P <0.05), and the blood flow spectrum was widened to some extent , With obvious dorsalis pedis artery, popliteal artery followed; arterial lesions were bilateral and multi-segmental. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound imaging of diabetic patients with lower extremity vascular disease early diagnosis, efficacy and prevention of gangrene lower limbs have important clinical value.
