一、設计思想
教材解读:《考试说明》指出,高考阅读七选五题型要求考生从整体上把握文章的逻辑结构和内容上的联系,理解句子之间、段落之间的关系,要求学生对语篇的连贯性、一致性等语段特征有较强的意识和熟练的把握。《普通高中英语课程标准(2017 版)》倡导指向学科核心素养的英语学习活动观和自主学习、合作学习、探究学习等学习方式[1]。
(一)学情分析
预上课班级为高三(9)班,学生基础相对较好,思维活跃,且已经掌握了高中阶段必修及选修课本上重点词汇及短语。有较好的阅读理解能力。但对于七选五阅读填空题缺少解题方法和策略,多数学生凭语感得出答案,且解题自信心不足,不少学生出现对此道题的畏惧和排斥心理。
(二)教学目标
By the end of this period,the students will be able to:
1.Learn how to choose a topic, supporting and conclusion sentence.
2.Master some basics rules to cope with gap filling.
3.Have a more confident attitude towards gap-filling.
教学重点:How to help students discover the logical relations between sentences.
教学难点:How to apply what they learn to practice.
二、教学过程
Step1 Share with the students the teaching objectives of this class
设计意图:一节课的教学目标不仅可以为老师在备课过程中为语材的选择教学方法及学生活动的选择上提供指导,而实际上一节课的教学目标也恰恰是这节课学生的学习目标,让学生在上课前就了解本节课的学习目标,那么他们就可以明确这节课该学什么,达到什么程度。因此,这样设计有助于学生明确目标,为实现高效课堂奠定基础。
Step2 Explore&Discover
通过高考原题的导入,学生迅速进入状态,而且很快发现设题位置位于段首,且功能为本段的主题句。在选择答案的同时,可以引导学生总结找到主题句的方法,即通过关键词即归纳概括得出正确选项。
例题1:____ By offering a seat to an elderly person or throwing the football back to the young child, the inner self-satisfaction you get by doing so is priceless. Once you do so, you will feel good about yourself.
答案:B. Lend a helping hand with a smile.
利用以上发现的规律,让学生继续完成第3题,学生不难发现本段文字中have a million things to do与选项中you are busy相互对应,you’re sorry and explain与选项中的don’t feel bad about saying no相互对应。
例题3._____.Tell the person you’re sorry and explain that you have a million things to do and then ask if the two of you can talk at a different time.(2017 全国Ⅲ卷)
A.If you are busy, don’t feel bad about saying no.

语篇的衔接要依靠句与句、段与段之间的一定衔接手段实现逻辑上的通顺。常见衔接手段有三种:指代与省略等语法手段;词语复现、同义、反义等词汇手段;逻辑连接语的使用。[2]例如例题1中出现了逻辑连接词so,因此前后句应该构成语义上的因果关系。

Most of us only realize the success of his becoming President.______. His life was not an easy one. His story is one that motivates us to keep moving forward whatever obstacles we have in life.
