随着中国的和平崛起,美国人学习中文的积极性越来越高涨。中文已成为美国升学考试的少数几种常用外语之一,不少中小学开设了中文课。距女儿女婿家约300米处有一所小学,该校开展了“2l世纪大课堂”的课外活动,目的是让学生们更多地了解世界各国的风土人情,还专门创办了中国俱乐部(China Club)。女儿幸运地被学校聘请为该俱乐部的校外辅导员。女儿首次走进教室,只见屋里20多个小学生,墙上到处都贴着五颜六色而又东倒西歪的图画,课桌摆放横七竖八。这哪里是小学!更像中国的幼儿园。
With the peaceful rise of China, the enthusiasm of Americans in learning Chinese is on the rise. Chinese has become one of the few commonly used foreign languages in the US entrance exams. Many Chinese schools have opened Chinese courses. About 300 meters away from his daughter’s son-in-law, there is a primary school which launches extra-curricular activities in the “21st Century Classroom” so that students can learn more about the customs and practices of all countries in the world and also set up the China Club China Club). Daughter fortunate enough to be hired by the school as the club’s off-campus counselor. My daughter walked into the classroom for the first time and saw more than 20 primary school students in the room. Colorful and downright-looking pictures were attached to the wall. Where is primary school! More like Chinese kindergarten.
