Based on the long-term study on the evolution of soil characteristics in organic farms, the differences of soil microbial community characteristics between organic and conventional vegetables were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the soil microbial biomass, acid phosphatase, urease, catalase and the number of culturable fungi and actinomycetes in organic vegetables were significantly higher than those of conventional vegetables. The soil bacterial biomass in organic and conventional plots obtained by soil phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) analysis was 12.64 nmol.g-1 and 7.29 nmol.g-1, respectively, with significant difference (P <0.05). The principal component analysis combined with R-cluster analysis showed that the comprehensive score of soil microbial community characteristics in organic-cultivated plots was higher than that of conventional plots.
