我们武宁县是个山区县,人口居住分散,交通不便,给普及教育带来了一定困难。为了适应山区特点,我们采取了一些适应山区农村实际的措施: 合理布局学校网点。我们认为,能不能做到儿童不出村就能上学,这是普及农村、特别是山区小学教育的关键之一。是让学校适应儿童,还是让儿童适应学校,这是两种不同的想法和做法。实践证明,让六、七岁的孩子爬山越岭去上学,不是好办法。1978年以来,我们经过几次整顿,进一步加强了小学网点建设,在全县办起了841所小学,基本做到了孩子上学不出村。
