咕噜家族（The Croods）经历了末日危机，决定寻找新的家园（New Home）。瓜哥（Grug）和大女儿小伊（Eep）带领The Croods勇敢走出洞穴（cave），饥肠辘辘之际，认识了生活在高墙内的菲尔（Phil）和霍普（Hope），他们自称“文明人（The Bettermans）”。Eep和他们的女儿晓晓（Dawn）一见如故，成为好友（friends）。当家人被一群猴子围攻时，她俩带领大家突破重围，最终The Croods觅得新家园，The Bettermans冲破了“围城”。
