文化的概念非常广泛,它是指生活在同一社会集团中的人们所学习、创造并共享的行为和思维方式。文化使某一人类群体区别于另一人类群体,使人类有别于其他动物。一个民族的文化包括其民族信仰、行为准则、语言、礼仪、艺术、技术、服饰、烹饪、宗教以及政治体制。21世纪是跨文化交流、全球化的时代,地球将成为人类群居的村落,不同文化、不同语言、不同文化背景的人将像“村民”一样朝夕与共、息息相关地共同生存、共同劳动。这种变化将使学习外语的目的、外语教学的目标、方法、手段等发生变化。“文化意识”是新英语课程标准的新概念,旨在让学生接触和了解英语国家文化,
The concept of culture is very extensive. It refers to the behavior and way of thinking that people living in the same social group learn, create, and share. Culture distinguishes one human group from another, making humans different from other animals. The culture of a nation includes its national beliefs, codes of conduct, language, rituals, art, technology, dress, cooking, religion, and political institutions. The 21st century is an era of cross-cultural communication and globalization. The earth will become a village where people live in groups. People from different cultures, languages, and cultures will live together and work together as if they were “villagers.” This change will change the purpose of learning a foreign language, the goals, methods, and methods of foreign language teaching. “Cultural awareness” is a new concept in the New English Curriculum Standard. It aims to enable students to contact and understand the culture of English-speaking countries.
