The first time I saw the sketch of Jake Metti, I was greatly stimulated. What amazes me is that an apple, a cup, a chair, and something so ordinary, can be so breathtaking in his visual way, which is certainly an extraordinary and wonderful experience. In a cross between light and shadow, I fell into confusion. What is the search for Jake Metti? The traces on the screen, as well as the distances that are difficult to reach, are telling the doubts of his heart or revealing a little-known secret? As early as the 1930s, Modern art has become hollow and poor in the eyes of Jake Metti. The most authentic feeling of art is slowly disappearing. It is an illusory wind blowing in the face, and the real visual experience no longer exists. For this, Jake Metty’s understanding is profound. After reflecting on modern art, Jakmeti was far away from the modern art movement. He returned to the studio, from an apple, a cup, to restart his new life experience. He concludes that painting is to understand the world in a purely visual form and to always face the central issue of the authenticity of things. Because the way of visual experience and the so-called truth of traditional realistic painting is viewed by Jakemeit as suspicious.
