The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of injury severity (ISS) on complement activity (represented by plasma C3_a and C5_a levels), serum TXB_2, and prostaglandin (PEG_2) levels in patients with endotoxemia and bacteremia Relationship. This experiment also deals with the mechanism of injury. Radioimmunoassay (RIA) of C3_a and C5_a was performed on 25 patients with different grades of ISS using quantitative desArg I-125 analysis system; RIA of TXB_2 and PGE_2 was performed using the method described by Reingold; Bacterial endotoxin fast staining, blood culture by the microbial laboratory. The results show that blunt
