In the spring of 1992, Comrade Deng Xiaoping pointed out in his southern tour that “revolution is liberating the productive forces and reform is also liberating the productive forces.” This thesis is a new contribution to the treasure trove of Marxism in the new situation of building socialism. First, the revolution is to liberate the productive forces Liberating the productive forces is the lifting of the shackles of the development of productive forces to develop productive forces. Marxism holds that the development of human society is driven by its fundamental contradictions, that is, the contradiction between the productive forces and the relations of production, the economic foundation, and the superstructure. In this basic contradiction movement, productivity is the most active and active revolutionary element. It is the basis of all history and the ultimate motivation for all social development. The so-called liberation of productive forces means to develop productive forces by lifting the bondage to the development of the productive forces. There are two different situations for the liberation of productive forces. One is the emancipation of the productive forces through revolution, and the other is the emancipation of the productive forces through reform.
