The C-erbB-2 oncogene was first discovered in chemically induced mouse neuroblastoma. This gene encodes a 185 kD molecular weight transmembrane glycoprotein that has the activity of tyrosinase. It has been found that there are amplifications of the C-erbB-2 gene in adenocarcinomas at different sites. This gene is associated with breast cancer recurrence and Transfer related.
