长期以来许多学校的课堂教学都存在一个严重问题即只注重教师与学生之间的“教”与“学”而忽视了学生与学生之间的交流和学习从而导致学生自主学习空间萎缩。表现为:教师权威高于一切对学生要求太严;课堂气氛紧张、沉闷缺乏应有的活力;形成了教师教多少学生学多少,教师“主讲”学生“主听”的单一教学模式违背了“教为主导学为主体”的原则。因此要充分发挥学生的主体作用就必须课堂上多给学生留出一些让他们自主学习和讨论的空间,使他们有机会进行独立思考、相互讨论并发表各自的意见,利用教师的主导作用引导学生积极主动地参与教学过程。
