From 1945 to 1988, 38 strains of Yersinia pestis were isolated from house mice and fleas in the northern part of the Aral Sea, including 27 towns and 11 villages. The increase in the number of house-mouse infections year after year often occurs during the active period of plague natural foci. In the northern Alaskan Karakum region that is salty Haibei plague live
