中国拥有世界上用户最多的有线电视网(以下简称:有线网),有线电视的终端用户普及率甚至高于电话的普及率。如何对这一资源加以充分的运用,就成为有线电视服务类公司成功的关键。就目前的现状而言,有线电视网的服务主要包括两大层次:基本服务(主要指有线电视接入服务)与增值服务(主要指互联网接入及基于互联网的服务等)。其中,基本服务的收入变化仅在于用户数量的增长与基本费用的调整,其增长稳定而可预期;增值服务的收入具有高度的不确定性,但其前景十分看好,就目前而言,仅互联网接入收费就是有线电视接入收费的10倍以上。有线网增值业务的核心是互联网接入及在此基础上的各项扩展增值服务。从IT的角度,与之相对应的概念是宽带接入。要对有线网的增值潜力进行的考察,就必须站在宽带接入的基础上。有人说:宽带天生不是有线网,但有线网天生是宽带,这句话形象说明了有线与宽带的关系。
China has the most subscribed cable television network in the world (hereinafter referred to as the cable network), and the penetration rate of end-users of cable television is even higher than that of the telephone. How to make full use of this resource has become the key to the success of CATV service companies. As far as the current status quo is concerned, the service of cable television networks mainly consists of two levels: basic services (mainly cable TV access services) and value-added services (mainly Internet access and Internet-based services). Among them, the basic service revenue changes only in the number of users and the basic cost of change in the adjustment of its growth is stable and predictable; value-added services with a high degree of uncertainty in the income, but its prospects are very promising, for now, only the Internet Access charges is more than 10 times the cable access charges. Cable network value-added business is the core of Internet access and on the basis of the expansion of value-added services. From the IT perspective, the corresponding concept is broadband access. To examine the added value of the cable network, we must stand on the basis of broadband access. Some people say: broadband is not a wired network, but the wired network is inherently broadband, this sentence shows the image of the relationship between cable and broadband.
