华中战场，是解放战争初期华东战场的一个重要组成部分。实事求是地评价陈毅在华东战场的功绩，主要表现在：负重致远，敢于胜利，开创新的战场；认真总结，严于责己，变不利为有利；团结协和，反复磋商，坚持在淮海地区作战；集中兵力，分割围歼，创歼敌整编师纪录；依靠群众，指导地方搞好支前后勤。由此得出结论：陈毅在华东战场功不可没。
