我父亲是在1929年9月写《古代英雄的石像》这篇童话的,写完以后先让我读,把我当作检验他的作品的第一读者。那年我十一岁,是小学五年级的学生。读了以后,我跟父亲说了些什么,早已忘了,但是记得父亲对我的理解是满意的。而我呢,在我父亲的童话中最喜欢的就是这一篇《古代英雄的石像》,因为我第一次读就留下了极深的印象。还记得在解放前,有几种语文课本(那时叫“国文教科书”)也 My father wrote the fairytale “The Stone Statue of Ancient Heroes” in September 1929.
