专门从事物理医学与康复的医师被称为物理医学与康复(康复医学)医师(physiatrist),physiatrist有特定读音(fizz-ee-at’-trist)。物理医学与康复(康复医学)医师在三种主要医学服务类型方面对各年龄层的患者进行诊断和治疗。 第一类是急性肌肉骨骼疼痛综合征的诊断和治疗,其范围由工业或运动损伤到常见的关节炎或腰背痛等退行性疾病。
Physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation are called physical medicine and rehabilitation (rehabilitation medicine) physiatrists, and physiatrists have fizz-ee-at’-trist. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation Medicine) Physicians diagnose and treat patients of all ages in three major types of medical services. The first category is the diagnosis and treatment of acute musculoskeletal pain syndrome, ranging from industrial or sports injuries to common degenerative diseases such as arthritis or low back pain.
