The introduction in academic papers introduces the research and provides necessary background,and it follows certain moves.The present study explores the acquisition of introduction writing in the EFL context based on a corpus compiled by 18BA theses of Chinese learners.The results indicate that students are not fully aware of,and unable to demonstrate the moves in the model,and reasons behind this failure are analyzed.
