这是毛泽东为新华社写的一篇消息。许多人在引用这篇消息时,都把标题写成“中原我军解放南阳”。根据该消息的导语和毛泽东给胡乔木关于写综合消息的建议(见下文),标题应该是“中原我军占领南阳”。这篇消息被选入人民教育出版社出版的八年级《语文》上册和其他出版社出版的语文教材,也经常被选入各种高校的新闻教材,如汤世英主编全国高等教育自学考试新闻学专业(本科)指定教材《中外新闻作品研究》①等等。该文是新闻(狭义的,即消息)中的述评新闻,也可以说是综合报道(见下文)。毛泽东在这条消息发表不久,写信给秘书、时任新华社社长的胡乔木,指出要加强综合报道,“其办法是借
