正当全国上下按照党的十六大指引的方向,朝着全面建设小康社会目标阔步前进时,一场重大灾害突然降临。一种毒性很大、传染性极强的非典型肺炎侵袭了我国25个省区市,受感染人数多达几千人。面对严峻的形势,我们党和政府本着对人民群众极端负责的精神,高度重视,果断决策,正确领导,打响了一场抗击非典的人民战争。各级党组织和广大党员干部身先士卒,迎难而上,冲锋在前,成为抗非典战场上的中流砥柱,奏响了一曲实践“三个代表”重要思想的雄壮乐章。
At a time when the whole country, in keeping with the guidelines from the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, is striding toward the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, a major disaster suddenly comes. A very toxic and highly contagious atypical pneumonia has hit 25 provinces and cities in our country and affected as many as several thousand people. Faced with the harsh situation, our party and the government, in the spirit of being extremely responsible to the masses of the people, attach great importance to making decisive decisions and correctly leading and starting a people’s war against SARS. Party organizations at all levels and the majority of party members and cadres, taking the lead in meeting the difficulties and facing the difficulties, have become the mainstay of the anti-SARS battlefield and played a magnificent movement to practice the important thinking of the ’Three Represents.’
