文章认为：科学主义给人类带来的变化是有目共睹的。它使人类征服自然的能力得到空前提高，但也给人类社会的发展带来巨大的负面效应。因此，除了工业化或科学技术等物质生产和物质生活这个基本要素外，要全面准确地把握现代化实质，还必须考虑到另外两个方面，即人的全面发展和社会进步。任何一个国家的现代转型都不可能建立在别的国家和民族伦理道德的精神支柱之上。必须开掘本民族的传统文化，将其中超越时代的恒常价值作为精神支柱并与西方近代科技相结合，才能使它们有效地内化为本民族实现经济增长的强大动力。现代化作为人类共同的目标和具体地实践活动的统一体，只能是传统文化背景下的现代化或传统文化基础上的现代化。
The article holds that the changes brought by humanism by scientism are obvious to all. It has enabled mankind to conquer nature more than ever before, but also has a huge negative effect on the development of human society. Therefore, in addition to the basic elements of material production and material life, such as industrialization or science and technology, comprehensive and accurate grasp of the essence of modernization must take into account two other aspects, that is, the all-round development of man and social progress. The modern transformation of any one country can not be built on the spiritual pillars of the ethics of other nations and nations. It is necessary to explore the traditional culture of our nation and take the constant value of transcending the times as a spiritual pillar in combination with modern Western science and technology so that they can be effectively internalized into powerful motivations for their own nation to achieve economic growth. As a common goal of mankind and a concrete unity of practice, modernization can only be modernization based on the traditional culture or on the basis of traditional culture.
