In the 20 years from 1960 to 1970, 67 cases of male lung cancer in 75-year-old or older were seen in autopsy. The maximum age is 89 years: most are 75 to 80 years old. Only 6 cases were 85 or older. 67 cases accounted for 8.5% (67/786) of the total number of lung cancers examined in 20 years, slightly lower than some reports. About 30% of lung cancer epithelial cancer, small cell cancer about 20-25%. The proportion of epithelial and adenocarcinomas in this group was similar (30% and 24%). 30-35% of lung cancers are adenocarcinomas. This group is slightly lower (22%) in older men. Cellular cancer is about 10-15%, which is slightly higher in the group (22%).
