“三个代表”重要思想是历史唯物主义基本原理与马克思主义建党学说基本原则相融合的一个理论整体。它的精神实质在于“立党为公 ,执政为民” ,其核心在于坚持党的先进性。“三个代表”思想指明了党的先进性的本质内涵是其鲜明的阶级性、人民性和代表性 ;论述了评价党的先进性的根本标准 ;解决了加强党的建设 ,使党立于不败之地的重大理论与实践课题。
