非英语专业研究生的英语学习需求是研究生公共英语课程体系改革的重要依据,也是影响教学效果的重要因素。本文在华东某高校开展问卷调查研究,了解该校非英语专业研究生在学术英语和职场英语等方面的真实需求,考察不同学位性质、不同院系专业的研究生,在学术英语和职场英语需求以及听说读写译等能力需求方面的差异,分析该校研究生公共英语课程体系改革是否能够满足不同学生的学习需求。研究表明,非英语专业研究生认识到英语学习的重要性,尤其注重职场需求和自身专业发展需要;研究生的职场英语需求,大于其学术英语需求;不同学位性质、不同院系专业的研究生,在学术英语和职场英语需求方面存在明显分化;非英语专业研究生英语专项技能需求也呈多样化。本文认为,研究生公共英语课程体系必须丰富其内涵,用研究生英语课程体系本身的多样化,来应对研究生英语学习需求的多样化;研究生英语课程在强调学术性和专业性的同时,也应当重视英语通用技能的培养,并避免将语言的工具性和人文性对立起来。
The non-English majors’ English learning needs are the important basis for the reform of postgraduate public English curriculum system, and also an important factor affecting the teaching effectiveness. In this paper, a university in east China conducted a questionnaire survey to understand the non-English majors in the school in academic English and workplace English and other real needs, study the nature of different degree, different faculties of graduate students in academic English and workplace English needs and listening Speaking and writing translation ability needs differences, analysis of graduate school public English curriculum system reform whether to meet the learning needs of different students. The research shows that non-English majors recognize the importance of English learning, paying particular attention to the needs of the workplace and their own professional development needs; graduate English requirements in the workplace, greater than their academic English needs; graduate students with different degrees, different faculties, English and workplace demand for English there is a clear differentiation; non-English majors demand for English special skills are also diverse. This paper argues that postgraduate public English curriculum system must enrich its connotation, and diversify the postgraduate English curriculum system to meet the diverse needs of postgraduate English learning. The graduate English course emphasizes academic and professional as well as English The cultivation of common skills, and to avoid the language of instrumental and cultural confrontation.
