高一化学关于硫的化学性质中有这样一个实验:给盛着硫粉的大试管加热到硫沸腾产生蒸气时,用坩锅钳夹住一束擦亮的细铜丝伸入管口,可看到铜丝在硫蒸气中燃烧,生成黑色的硫化亚铜,说明硫能跟金属反应。但按照课本中的装置做这个实验往往不成功。笔者从反复实验中发现:原来是温度没有达到硫的沸点444.6℃,这是实验失败的主要原因。
One of Chemistry’s chemical properties of sulfur is such an experiment: When a large test tube containing sulphur powder is heated until the sulphur boils to generate vapor, a polished fine copper wire is inserted into the nozzle by means of a crucible pliers. The burning of the copper wire in the sulfur vapours produces black ferrous sulfide, indicating that sulfur reacts with the metal. But doing this experiment according to the device in the textbook is often unsuccessful. The author found from repeated experiments that the temperature did not reach the boiling point of sulfur of 444.6°C, which was the main reason for the failure of the experiment.
