作者对肺内多发转移性结节的病人进行连续检查,并选择适合测量的结节对其生长及消退速度进行测定。文中计算了肿瘤生长的体积倍增时间(TDT)和肿瘤消退的体积倍减时间(THT)。研究目的是为了得出肿瘤的生长速度和/或消退速度与肿瘤大小的关系。适合本研究的病变必须是:①球形,边缘清楚,②在足够包括一个倍增时间的随访期间内连续X线拍片,③不同大小的多发病灶之一。这样可以分析每一病人不同大小的结节。8例病人符合上述标准。5例是软组织肉瘤肺内转移。其中平滑肌肉瘤4例,纤维肉瘤1例。另外3例分别为乳腺癌、膀胱癌和肝癌肺内转移。有7例在观察期间结节长
The authors performed continuous examinations of patients with multiple metastatic nodules in the lungs and determined the rate of growth and resolution of the nodules suitable for measurement. Volumetric doubling time (TDT) of tumour growth and volumetric hypoten- sion time (THT) of tumour regression were calculated. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the growth rate and/or speed of tumor regression and tumor size. The lesions suitable for this study must be: 1 spherical, well-defined, 2 consecutive X-rays at a follow-up period sufficient to include a doubling time, and one of 3 different size multifocal lesions. This allows analysis of different size nodules for each patient. Eight patients met the above criteria. Five cases were lung metastasis of soft tissue sarcoma. There were 4 cases of leiomyosarcoma and 1 case of fibrosarcoma. The other 3 cases were lung metastasis of breast cancer, bladder cancer and liver cancer. There were 7 cases with long nodules during the observation period
