在空战中,尤其是在抓住目标后,完成命中目标之前的一瞬间,驾驶员的眼睛高度地集中在目标上,而无暇看管座舱内的其他设备.这时驾驶员若能利用声音控制系统启动和控制他所需要启动的开关或设备,这就能使驾驶员在完成目标命中之前的关键时刻,眼睛保持在目标上而同时完成其他的操作任务,从而可以大大减轻驾驶员的工作负担,提高作战效率.利用说话的关键词代替应当启动的开关,使驾驶员能控制飞机航空电子系统的“声音控制系统”,将于今年(82年)春天在美国空军/通用动力公司的先进战斗机技术综合器(AFT1)/F—16上进行飞行试验.试验利用Lear Siegler公司研制的说话识别装置.
