Capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE) was first studied by Hjerten, who introduced gel intocapillary (I. D. 150μm) in 1983. The much thinner capillary (I. D. 75μm)was used byCohen et al.in 1987, who promoted CGE to rapid development.
