与音乐体验有关的感情理论一种假设音乐家、美学家、听众的反省,以及从对行为的观察和对音乐刺激的生理反应的研究中收集而来的客观材料所提供的证据,并没有给与我们关于音乐刺激和由此产生的感情反应的可靠资料;为此,我们对感情的心理学理论作了考察。隐含在这个考察中的是一种目前应当搞清楚的假设:尽管刺激的情境可能变换莫测,但作为引起情感的条件来说,它们是共同的,因此也适合于音乐。换言之,当反应的倾向被抑制时,说明感情被唤起的情感法则是一个在所有的体验领域中与人类心理有关的共同问题。
