Among Asian countries, Singapore is known for its emphasis on urban construction and settlement of housing issues. At present, of the 2.47 million people in the country, 75% have already been admitted to high-rise residential buildings built by the government. Calculated according to the national population, the per capita living area reached 15 square meters or more, which surpassed Japan and ranked first in Asia. Not long ago, at the invitation of the International Architecture Intelligence and Documentation Committee, the city’s Jiang Dianbiao and other comrades went to Singapore to participate in an international high-rise building conference. After the meeting, they also visited the high-rise residential building and some of the old city reconstruction projects. Here, the journal extracts the relevant reports after their return to China and publishes them as follows.
