目前,适合于大中学历史教学的系列历史地图在国内已经陆续编绘刊印,但国外新绘的中国历史图籍尚属鲜见.近年,日本平凡社编纂《世界大百科事典》专门编绘中国历史地图41幅,引人注意.这些地图大致可分四类:一、历史政治地图,包括历代疆域沿革和行政区划图22幅。如《西周时代要图》、《前汉州郡国图》等。二、历史军事地图7幅,包括战争形势图和进军路线图。如《太平军进击路线图》、《长征图》等。三、历史经济地图6幅,包括水道图和交通路线图。如《大运河图》、《<大唐西域记>所见玄奘入竺路线图》等。四、历史人文地图6幅,包括原始社会遗址分布图、民族分布图和都城图。如《安阳附近遗迹图》、《宋代都市图》等。
