水稻田具有丰富的天然固氮藻类及固氮微生物,在一些生长季其固氮量可达72公斤氮/公顷。因此,深入研究水稻细菌系统的联合固氮作用,是当前生物固氮领域的一个重要课题。从一九七五年开始,福建省农科院土肥所已从45个水稻品种根系分离到具有不同固氮活性的菌株(乙炔还原法);并对其中m—Sm—1612,St—Sm—9021两个菌株进行了初步的细胞形态观察,若干生理学鉴定和水稻幼苗回接的实验。
