本文用模式激发理论分析横向强耦合(纤芯相拼接)单模光纤定向耦合器,这类耦合器是一般弱耦合理论或射线理论所无法分析的。用方——圆波导等效法计算了输入端口激发模对耦合区传输模的激发系数。研究了作为耦合长L的函数的理论耦合量和插入损耗。曾用特殊的光电方法来控制耦合长度,制成具有各种耦合量的耦合器,插入损耗在1.2—1.5dB之间,反向隔离度大于60dB。测试了器件在中心波长附近的谱特性,并与理论结果作了比较。
In this paper, we analyze the transverse strongly coupled single-mode optical fiber directional coupler with mode excitation theory, which can not be analyzed by general weak coupling theory or ray theory. Using the square-circular waveguide equivalent method, the excitation coefficient of the input port excitation mode to the coupling region transmission mode was calculated. The theoretical coupling and insertion loss as a function of coupling length L are investigated. Have used a special photoelectric method to control the coupling length, made with a variety of coupling coupler, insertion loss between 1.2-1.5dB, reverse isolation greater than 60dB. The spectral characteristics of the device near the center wavelength were tested and compared with the theoretical results.
