My county is a famous hometown of lotus root, lotus root cultivation area larger, in 1998 by the relevant state ministries named the only “hometown of lotus root”. However, the local lotus root cultivars “big purple red” and “beauty red” in the long-term planting there is a kind of degeneration, yield and quality declined. To this end, since 1994, we introduced the “Wu-Wu-2” lotus root from the Wuhan Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
