随着汽车制造业的迅速发展,汽车板簧用量日益增加,汽车用板簧已从平扁弹簧,发展为异型截面板簧和变断面板簧(即锥形簧)。这种变断面板簧,中间部分厚度达20~40mm,对材质各项性能要求较高,尤其是要求弹簧用钢有较高的淬透性。目前各国板簧用钢都是中高碳的Si-Mn系钢和Cr-Mn系钢。为了提高板簧用钢的淬透性以制造截面较大的板簧,发展使用了Cr-Mn-B系钢和Si-Mn-V-B系钢。目前国内90%以上的板簧都是由60Si2Mn钢
