The first session of the China Metal Society’s Rock Crushing Mechanics Conference was hosted by the Rock Blasting Group of the Mining Research Council of the Chinese Metal Society on December 20, 1980 in Changsha. It lasted for five days. At the meeting, 116 representatives from eight departments and 59 units from the Ministry of Metallurgy, the Ministry of Coal, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Chemical Industry, the First Machine Department, the Fifth Machine Department, and the People’s Liberation Army.
