好几万年前,人类便使用图案、记号与图画等多种方式,传达简单的信息。从古埃及象形文字、美索不达米亚楔形文字到中国的甲骨文,这些都是记录人们希望表达的思想与情感的方式之一。到了21世纪,电脑资讯发达的今天,电脑文字语言,又成为人类保存资讯不可或缺的重要媒介。不管从历史角度,还是从人类文明资讯演进发展史来看,人从出生开始就和文字符号离不开关系,从出生的姓名开始,这种文字符号,到身份证,到上学的学号,甚至是车牌号码,都是一种代号。如果世界上少了这种简易识别的代码符号,那么我们要记忆理解和传达的资讯,就会变得相当复杂和凌乱。
