From underground oil tanks to vibrant artistic spaces, these industrial chambers have been transformed by Tate Modern to 1)showcase talent in central London after decades of inactivity. Over a 15-week festival, the tanks will host a variety of art, film works, and installations for the public to view, including performances from 2)renowned 3)choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. The tanks have been unused since Bankside Power Station was 4)decommissioned in 1981. They are the first phase of a ￡250 million extension project that will increase Tate Modern’s size by 60%. It’s free to visit the tanks, and a full list of events can be found on the Tate Modern website.
