Traction motor brush check, is an important process in the traction motor assembly process. When repairing the motor in the locomotive depot, it often causes the blackening or even ringing of the commutator surface due to ignoring the determination and adjustment of brush neutral line. Check the brush there are several ways, the most commonly used induction method. Induction method is based on the law of electromagnetic induction. When the motor magnetic field through the direction of the current change, then the motor generates a fluctuating magnetic field, resulting in the armature winding induced potential. Determine the degree of brush centering according to the magnitude of the sensed potential between positive and negative brushes.
