我厂与北京第一机床厂合作把H50型15米大型龙门刨床(以下简称龙刨)改装成为现代化水平较高的龙门铣床,花了一年零五个月时间(1983年5月─1984年9月),改装总费用80多万元。龙门铣投产后技术性能达到设计标准并能满足加工引进B ＆ W柴油机的技术要求,经过检验,产品加工质量良好。实践证明,这台大型机床的改造是成功的,也是目前全国金属切削机床改造项目中最大的项目之一。
