语言历来是人们进行沟通信息、交流情感的工具,但是课堂教学中教师使用的语言通常是口头或书面的语言,而另一种语言即身体语言却常常被忽视,这或多或少削减了英语教学的生动性,降低了课堂教学效率。身体语言作为一种特殊的语言在实际教学及师生情感交流过程中具有有声语言不可替代的作用,因此它又有“第二教学语言”之称。教师如果能善于运用身体语言,加上原有的教学经验、方法,就可以使课堂充满生机,大大提高教学质量,达到事半功倍的效果。
