It is an important goal of college English teaching to cultivate college students' ability to learn English autonomously. At present, the self-learning ability of college students in our country is very weak, and so is their self-learning consciousness, which will influence them to adapt to the needs of social development in the future successfully. In order to help develop their ability to learn English autonomously, college teachers should make full use of the important form of college English classroom teaching, change their own ideas, guide college students through various forms of ideological education and strive to improve their initiative and zeal in English learning while imparting them English knowledge and learning skills.
