用传统的钻孔-爆破法采矿工艺开采贵金属薄矿脉和极薄矿脉,存在着矿石损失贫化率高,经济效益差的问题。由北京矿冶研究总院和招远金矿共同研究试验了一种用劈岩机的无爆破采矿新工艺,就是用凿岩机钻孔,用液压劈岩机落矿,即钻-劈工艺,实行矿、岩分采的原则,杜绝爆破法落矿,从而达到大幅度降低矿石损失贫化的目的。液压劈岩机是无爆破采矿工艺的主要落矿设备,因此必须先研制一种先进的,性能可靠的劈岩机。经过几年的研制、现场试验和多次改进,PY80型液压劈岩机的整机性能均已达到了设计要求。该机具有劈裂力大、重量轻、密封性能好、楔子劈开间隙大、油缸中心回油等优点,能符合无爆破采矿
