South Korea’s Yangming School, known as Xia Gu Xue, is a family run school established in the late Joseon Dynasty by Zheng Qi-Dou (No. Xiagu, 1649-1736), a principal representative of the Yangming School of North Korea. As both Chinese Yangming School and Korean Yangming School center on the ideology of “heart” category, and because of the historical conditions formed by Yangming in China and Yangming in South Korea, social backgrounds are different, which determines Their dissimilarities in the construction of the theoretical system, the understanding of important categories and so on. Studying and discussing the commonalities and opposite sexes of Yangming School of China and South Korea, through the comparative study of Yangming School of China and South Korea, we can see the basic characteristics of East Asian traditional culture and its core - East Asian consciousness.
