我认为语文第三册内容深,课文长,估计二上学生的水平,接受仍有困难。因为第三册语文三十二课中,有十四课是用的初级小学国语课本第五册上的教材,有二课是采用旧制三下的教材,有六课和初级小学国语课本第七册上的课文相同;其余有几课是采用四二制二下的教材,但课文却长了一倍。例如猴子捞月亮、小铁锤、在四二制课本中分作两课教,每课课文最长约在一百五十字左右,而语文第三册则把两课合为一课。小铁锤课文长达三百二十三字。甚至如渡船上的母女一课,在现用第五册课本里,分作两课,共三百六十四字,而在第三册语文中,则合并为一课,长达三百四十一字。因此该课本的内容和篇幅,在大体上说,和三上的程度相当而微有超过的。许多人都认为这样的课本,无论新制四二制,对二上的学生说,都嫌太深。我认为编新制课本,应该掌握在五年之内,教完六年课程而不降低水平这一个原则,有计划的循序渐进,逐步提高。儿童的年龄愈大,接受力愈强,因此,提高的百分比,一般高年级要比低年级占得多
