Introduction The need to meet the high precision, low elevation tracking and multi-target discrimination required to avoid obstacles led us to investigate radars operating in the millimeter wave band of the radio frequency spectrum. Of particular interest to radar designers is the inherent advantage of millimeter-wave radar systems in tracking targets with high accuracy in a clutter environment.
