我国文学与绘画的交融互动肇于汉,滥觞于晋,经唐而光大,迨宋、元、明、清集大成。史载,晋人顾恺之以神话传说为题,作《女史箴图》《神赋图》等,成为中国画史上不朽名作。而据诗制画可溯及唐,先是郑谷《咏雪》:“乱飘僧舍茶烟湿,密洒歌楼酒力微。江山晚来堪画处,渔人披得一蓑归”。诗被当朝画家段赞善取意成画,并赠予郑谷。彼此诗画酬酢,往来互动,成就国画史上一段佳话。至于以画题诗更是一时风气,从初唐四杰至李、杜,所有宗师名家无不涉足。入宋,皇家画院招聘
