Objective To investigate the role of mast cells and neurotransmitters serotonin (5 HT) and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) in the pathogenesis of intestinal dysfunction after infection. Methods Thirty-two adult male Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. In the experimental group (n = 20), each rat was infused with 1 mL physiological saline containing 400 microcyst larva cysts of Dali strain Dali, Yunnan
