Introduction
Listening is the purpose, and one of the premi-ses of speaking and writing. Generally speaking, itis acknowledged that listening is not only an important skill in language performing, but? also a criti-cal means of acquiring a second language. In orderto lower or eliminate listening barriers and improvethe level of English listening, students must use appropriate listening strategies. This thesis aims atgaining a relatively comprehensive picture of thebarriers of students ' English listening, analyzinglistening barriers students have from below factors.The paper also puts forward strategies for Englishlearners to overcome listening barriers so as to improve their listening ability.
